In April 2026 Xi Jinping described goals of "national reunification and rejuvenation" as being in line with Sun's wishes, while KMT chairwoman Cheng Li-wun pledged to work towards national rejuvenation, also citing Sun, but stopped short of echoing Mr Xi's call for unification.
